OBIT: BILLY EUGENE JOHNSON SR

Billy Eugene Johnson Sr. was born on July 6, 1941, in Robertson County, Texas. He lived a life dedicated to hard work and service, spending many years as a truck driver, a profession that took him across the highways and byways of America, allowing him to experience the vastness of the country he called home.

He departed this life on May 27, 2025, in Grand Prairie, Texas. A beloved figure to many, Billy’s presence will be deeply missed by all who knew him, particularly for his warm smile and kind-hearted nature.

Friends and family are invited to pay their respects during the viewing on June 4, 2025, from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Golden Gate Funeral Home in Dallas, Texas, located at 4155 South R. L. Thornton Freeway, Dallas, TX 75224. The following day, June 5, a viewing will start at 10:00 AM, followed by the funeral service at 11:00 AM at Mount Olive Baptist Church, located at 301 West Sanford Street, Arlington, TX 76011. Repass will be immediately after the burial at Mount Olive Baptist Church.

Billy Eugene Johnson Sr.’s legacy will live on in the memories of those he touched throughout his life. As we gather to honor his memory, we remember the laughter, stories, and love he shared with all who had the privilege of knowing him.
