OBIT: LAKETA SPELLS

Laketa Spells, a beloved homemaker and cherished member of the Dallas community, passed away on May 28, 2025, at the age of 47. Born on August 29, 1977, in Dallas, Texas, Laketa’s life was characterized by her vibrant spirit and unwavering dedication to her family and friends.

Laketa was known for her heart of gold; she was thoughtful, giving, and had an infectious love for fun. Her laughter could light up any room, and she had a remarkable ability to bring people together. Family gatherings, picnics, and lively parties were moments she cherished deeply, often filled with joy, warmth, and her signature culinary delights.

An avid cook, Laketa took great pride in preparing meals that not only nourished but also created memories around the dinner table. She was also passionate about swimming and enjoyed playing tennis, sharing her enthusiasm for these activities with both family and friends.

Laketa’s proudest accomplishments were centered around her family, as she invested her heart and soul into nurturing and supporting her loved ones. Her legacy of love and devotion will forever remain in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to know her.

Visitation will be held on June 4, 2025, from 12:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Golden Gate Funeral Home-Dallas, located at 4155 South R. L. Thornton Freeway, Dallas, TX 75224. A funeral service in her honor will take place the following day, June 5, 2025, at 11:00 AM, also at Golden Gate Funeral Home-Dallas. 

As we remember Laketa, let us celebrate her life filled with love, laughter, and the many happy moments she shared with her family and friends. She will be dearly missed, but her spirit will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
