OBIT: CAROLYN SHAWN LYDIA

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Carolyn Shawn Lydia, who left us on March 15, 2025, in Dallas, Texas. Born on May 22, 1957, in Camden, New Jersey, Carolyn was a remarkable individual whose impact on her community and those around her will never be forgotten.

Throughout her life, Carolyn dedicated herself to being a caregiver, particularly focusing on the nurturing and development of children. Her warm-hearted and compassionate nature resonated deeply with both families and children alike, making her an esteemed figure in her field.

Carolyn was known for her feisty personality, always demonstrating a flair for elegance as she was a sharp dresser and maintained a neat environment wherever she was. She was deeply religious, and her faith was a cornerstone of her identity, guiding her actions and interactions with those she encountered. A true embodiment of generosity, Carolyn would always lend a helping hand to those in need, reflecting her loving and caring spirit.

In addition to her commitment to caregiving, Carolyn had a passion for life that shone through her hobbies. She found joy in assembling zigzag puzzles, swimming, and gardening. She delighted in watching the rain—a soothing pastime complemented by her love for a good cup of coffee. Her penchant for reading allowed her to escape into different worlds, enriching her life and expanding her horizons.

Carolyn took immense pride in her family, considering her relationships and accomplishments with them to be her greatest successes. She cherished every moment spent with her loved ones and was known for her enthusiasm in decorating for the holidays, creating beautiful memories that would last a lifetime.

A visitation in her honor will take place on March 26, 2025, from 12:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Golden Gate Funeral Home-Dallas, located at 4155 South R. L. Thornton Freeway, Dallas, TX 75224. Following the visitation, a funeral service will be held on March 27, 2025, at 1:00 PM at the Allene Chapel of the same location,

As we say our farewells to Carolyn Shawn Lydia, we remember her as a loving, caring individual whose spirit will continue to inspire and touch the hearts of many.
