OBIT: EVELYN STRICKLAND

Evelyn Strickland, born on October 11, 1933, in Naples, Texas, passed away peacefully on February 24, 2025, in Dallas, Texas. A devoted homemaker, Evelyn devoted her life to nurturing and guiding her children and grandchildren, shaping them into the remarkable individuals they have become today. Her legacy is a testament to the power of love, kindness, and perseverance—a beacon of light that will forever shine brightly in the hearts of those she held dear.

Evelyn, known by her maiden name, Miller, was a high school graduate whose education served as a foundation for her lifelong journey of caring for her family. She embraced her role as a matriarch with grace and unwavering determination, providing a safe haven where her children, Phillip, Rita, Billy, Kelly, and Debra, could flourish. Her influence extended beyond her immediate family; she created bonds that ripple through her host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, other relatives, and friends who were fortunate enough to know her.

Her memory lives on in those brightened by her spirit, as she carved out paths for them, teaching invaluable lessons through her words and actions. Evelyn will always be remembered as a beautiful soul, a guiding force whose love knew no bounds. She will be sorely missed but cherished forever in the stories and memories shared by her family.

A viewing to honor Evelyn’s life and spirit will be held on March 7, 2025, from 1:00 PM until 7:00 PM at the Golden Gate Funeral Home in Dallas, Texas. As we gather to celebrate her life, let us remember her as the luminous presence she was—one that enriched the lives of her loved ones and illuminated the path toward a brighter future. To order memorial trees or send flowers to the family in memory of EVELYN STRICKLAND, please visit our flower store.
