On Feb. 14, 2025, a day for lovers, Café Nubia in far north Dallas will celebrate its one-year anniversary. Nestled in a shopping center near the intersection of Midway Road and Rosemeade Parkway, it’s an unassuming gem with a dimly lit interior and massive, secret garden styled patio. According to owner Kenechi “KC” Nnamani, opening his first restaurant venture on Valentine’s Day was done purposefully. Beyond the atmosphere, patrons fall in love with the African + Mediterranean inspired food.
“How audacious was I?” Nnamani said with laughter at the thought of his opening day. “Valentine’s Day is the biggest restaurant day, period.”
He shared how many thanked him for providing an upscale dining experience for their wives and girlfriends. He also saw it as the establishment of a tradition.

“Where else do you want to spend Valentine’s [Day]? Spend it at Café Nubia!”
Stage performers set a sultry and soulful vibe. The massive bar inside is appealing with bartenders mixing drinks. Even on a walk to the bathroom, you’re met with beautiful decor.
From jollof rice, lamb sliders, lamb chops, beef suya, rasta pasta, Greek smashed potatoes and more, each dish is beautifully plated and provides a flavorful explosion.
