A transfer pipeline from Miles to Alabama A&M has started. All the players who joined Sam Shade

Since Sam Shade was hired by Alabama A&M to become the school’s next football coach, a recruiting pipeline from Miles College has already started.

Since Sam Shade was hired by Alabama A&M to become the school’s next football coach, a recruiting pipeline from Miles College has already started.

Here are all the former Golden Bears who have committed join Shade at Alabama A&M so far.

Jeremiah Hudson-Davis, DB

Committed: Jan. 1

The first player to officially announce he was following Coach Shade to Huntsville was All-SIAC defensive back Jeremiah Hudson-Davis.

Davis played two seasons at Miles, including the 2024 season in which he had a breakout season as the team’s starter.

He recorded 71 total tackles, 2.0 tackles for loss, 2.0 sacks, four interceptions, four pass breakups, and a forced fumble.

The sophomore defender had his best performance in the team’s SIAC championship win over Clark Atlanta, recording two interceptions.

Jaylyn Chambers, DB

Committed: Jan. 6

Another defensive back making his way from Miles to Alabama A&M is freshman Jaylyn Chambers. Chambers is one of two freshmen transferring to Alabama A&M from Miles.

The freshman defensive back has the least amount of game experience, having played just five games last season.

However, he made the most of his playing time, recording seven tackles, 1.0 sacks, 1.0 tackles for loss, an interception, and three pass breakups.

Khamoni Merrell, DL

Committed: Jan. 6

The other freshman making the jump to Huntsville with Coach Shade is defensive lineman Khamoni Merrell.

Merrell played seven games for the Golden Bears contributing nine tackles, 2.5 tackles for loss, and 1.5 sacks.

Travaunta Abner, TE

Committed: Jan. 9

The most recent name added to the Miles to Alabama A&M pipeline is All-SIAC tight end Travaunte Abner.

Abner is the only player on this list who did not start his college career at Miles, transferring to the team in 2023 after playing two seasons at Carson-Newman.

He recorded 45 receptions for 692 yards and six touchdowns in 19 total games in his two years at Miles. He was named to the All-SIAC First Team in each of his two seasons.
