DINING WHILE BLACK in D/FW

Takeoff Bar-and-Grill has to have been one of Dallas’ best kept secrets, but not any longer.

As four-year-old Skylar becomes acquainted with dining out, she’s getting to try different meals, based on referrals.

Dallas-native Vincent Hall recommended TakeOff for this past weekend’s excursion.

Located in Oak Cliff at the Executive Airport, TakeOff is nice, and clean.  The pleasant staff was a joy to interact with, making for a great way to start off our experience.

It was also nice to see fellow publisher Mollie Belt of the Dallas Examiner, her son James and her two grandsons.

A regular patron, Mrs. Belt told us that the food was great and we agreed.

Skylar thoroughly enjoyed the wings and macaroni and cheese.  She refused to share any portion of her meal. Actually I followed her lead!

The salmon, broccoli, mashed potatoes had just the right amount of seasoning and the macaroni and cheese has to be some of the best in town.

A bonus was being able to watch the Colorado game (Coach Prime’s team was victorious), and the battle between Florida A&M and Jackson State Universities.

I’m going back next week to try the fish. I heard it’s the real deal, no SWAI or Basa!

Now about the cost!

Skylar didn’t have any complaints, and neither did we!
