Updates: Biden-⁠Harris Administration’s Continued Response Efforts to Hurricane Helene

The Biden-Harris Administration is working around the clock to provide robust and well-coordinated Federal support for the ongoing response and recovery efforts due to Hurricane Helene’s impacts. President Biden’s remarks on the devastation and continued response efforts can be viewed here. Today, President Biden will visit North Carolina and South Carolina and Vice President Harris will visit Georgia to visit areas impacted by Hurricane Helene. You can view their remarks here:

Today, an updated fact sheet on continued response efforts to Hurricane Helene was released. As of this week, the Biden Harris Administration has approved major disaster declarations in FloridaNorth Carolina, and South Carolina, allowing survivors to immediately access funds and resources to jumpstart their recovery. Emergency declarations were also approved for Florida, North Carolina, Tennessee, South Carolina, Georgia, Virginia, and Alabama. These actions authorize FEMA to coordinate all disaster relief to alleviate the hardship and suffering caused by the emergency on the local population and to provide appropriate assistance to save lives, to protect property, public health and safety and to lessen or avert the threat of a catastrophe.
