Dallas Mavericks Head Coach Jason Kidd was honored with the Lifetime Achievement Award at the recent Nancy Lieberman Charities 13th Annual Dream Ball Gala.
The Gala, held at The Factory in Deep Ellum, honors those who uplift, support and encourage others in their environment. The gala includes silent and live auctions. Proceeds from the event, which this year was emceed by ESPN’s Jay Harris, help underserved youth organizations with access to educational and sports opportunities.
Kidd’s award was presented by former Dallas Cowboy Michael Irvin.
The charity also honored former Iowa Women’s Basketball Head Coach Lisa Bluder with the Inspirational Award and now-outgoing Dallas Police Chief Eddie Garcia with the inaugural Toby Keith American Hero Award. Kidd, an NBA Hall-of-Famer and NBA champion with the 2011 Mavericks, signed a multi-year contract extension earlier this year. He led the Mavs to two playoff appearances in his first three seasons – including winning the Western Conference Finals in 2022 – and a surprising NBA Finals run this year after the Mavs won the Southwest Division title.
