Alford is a proud alum of Southern University where she graduated Magna Cum Laude before receiving her Juris Doctorate Degree from the Southern University Law Center and an LLM at Georgetown University Law Center with an interest in bioethics. A recipient of numerous awards, Professor Alford, the Rachel Emanuel Endowed Professor at Southern University Law Center, is a 2024 National Newspaper Publishers Association Education Leadership Award Recipient. She is a brilliant scholar with a dynamic personality and she is passionate about her work; especially lecturing on The Restorative Justice Through the Lens of Mrs. Henrietta Lacks.
