Deckrick Shaw, born on March 12, 1956, in Gilmer, Texas, departed this life on August 24, 2024, in DeSoto, Texas. He was a beloved individual whose warmth and geniality left an indelible mark on all who knew him.

In his, Deckrick cultivated deep friendships and cherished connections that reflected his personality. He reveled in the company of his friends, finding joy in shared moments of laughter and camaraderie. He loved working which allowed him to make friends.  A passionate sports enthusiast, Deckrick often spent hours engrossed in his favorite games, celebrating the thrilling moments of competition with fervor. Attending the Gilmer jamboree was one of his most joyful moments.

In addition to his love for sports, Deckrick had a spirited fondness for scratching lotto tickets, embracing the thrill of hope and chance that came with each ticket. His ability to find joy in life’s simple pleasures made him a source of inspiration and positivity to those around him.

Friends and family are invited to pay their respects during a viewing held on August 30, 2024, from 11:00 AM to 5:00 PM at Golden Gate Funeral Home – Ft. Worth, located at 5701 East Loop 820 South, Fort Worth, TX 76119. The funeral service will take place on August 31, 2024, starting at 11:00 AM at the same location.

Deckrick Shaw’s legacy will continue through the fond memories shared by his loved ones and friends. His spirit will remain alive in the hearts of all who were privileged to know him.
