The door was locked early. Franchisee Danni Washington came out smiling, however the soft opening day of her new venture was anything but that. She and her team worked hard to keep up.
“I had to order my staff some pizza because they didn’t have time to take a break,” Washington said.
The Peach Cobbler Factory located at 8874 Coleman Boulevard in Frisco, Texas experienced abundant success during its very first day. Washington shared that they served 500 customers and were sold out.
Several customers walked up and were met with the news that they were closed for the day. No one seemed upset. One gentleman gave Washington a fist bump and said “Congratulations.” Many shared that they’d return the next day.
Washington’s Frisco location is the 100th franchise for the company. Other locations in North Texas include Richardson, Deep Ellum and Arlington, with upcoming locations in Plano and Grand Prairie.
Washington is pleased that she settled in Frisco.
“I just know how to pick my areas,” Washington said. “So, I knew that Frisco is a very profitable area and I researched. I was gonna take it to McKinney at first, and I looked at McKinney and I looked at Little Elm, so when I found this location, and I’d seen Frisco Square and all the events that go on here throughout the year, I chose this location… I’m so glad I did too.”
Another location is in the works for Washington. She shared that she just bought The Woodlands, Texas territory in the Houston area.
The Peach Cobbler Factory serves many varieties of cobblers beyond peach. Other menu items include banana pudding, churros, brownies, waffles, cookies, shakes and more. The official opening day is Sunday, August 25.
Reflecting on the success of the soft opening, the Mississippi native has cobbled together what seems to be a bright future in Texas.
“It’s a good thing that we sold out,” Washington said. “But, I hope tomorrow we don’t sell out. It’s been fabulous.”
