In the gentle embrace of time, Esther Pearl Whiten bid her final farewell on July 18, 2024. Her essence lingers in the hearts of those who knew her, a testament to a life enriched by kindness and love.
Born on April 11, 1937, Esther’s journey unfolded with grace and compassion. Her presence radiated warmth, her words carried solace, and her actions spoke of a generosity that knew no bounds. A soul adorned with virtues of kindness, soft-spoken wisdom, and unwavering care, Esther touched the lives of many with her gentle spirit.
Esther attended and graduated from Phyllis Wheatley High School in Hill County. She worked as a nurse for many years at VNA (Visiting Nurse Association) & Community Home Health Care until she retired in 2010. Esther Whiten was a faithful member of Good St. Baptist Church.
Mrs. Whiten worked faithfully in the community, she was part of a Cancer Support Group called Life to Life. She was also a member of The American Legion Auxiliary Post # 802 where she served as Chaplin. Esther was a devoted member of Library Friends, as well as the President for the Neighborhood Crime Watch Association of Brentwood Trinity Heights for many years. There are so many more attributes that can be added to her many accomplishments, but if you knew her nothing else need to be added.
Among her cherished pastimes was the art of collecting elephant figurines—an endearing reflection of her nurturing nature. Each piece held a story, a memory woven into the tapestry of her being, symbolizing the interconnectedness she shared with all.
The celebration of Esther’s life will take place at Golden Gate Funeral Home-Dallas on August 1, 2024, starting at 1:00 PM for visitation followed by a Funeral Service on August 2, 2024, commencing at 11:00 AM. The address is 4155 South R. L. Thornton Freeway, Dallas, TX 75224.
In the garden of remembrance where memories bloom eternal, Esther’s spirit finds peace among the whispers of love and gratitude. Though she may have departed from this earthly realm, her light continues to shine brightly in the lives she touched with tenderness.
