Dorothy Ann Woods, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and sister, away on July 4, 2024, in Lancaster, Texas. She was born on March 26, 1956, in Tyler, Texas.

Dorothy dedicated her professional life to serving as a detention for Dallas County. Her commitment to her work was unwavering, and she touched the lives of many with her dedication and compassion.

In addition to her successful career, Dorothy was a proud member of the Alpha Kappa Alpha sorority, Inc Her involvement in the sorority brought her joy and fulfillment, and she cherished the bonds she formed with fellow members.

She received her Bachelor of Science degree, demonstrating her commitment to education and personal growth. Dorothy’s thirst for knowledge and self-improvement inspired those around her.

Family was at the center of Dorothy’s life. She is survived by her loving husband, children, grandchildren, siblings, as well as other relatives and friends who will deeply miss her presence. Dorothy’s legacy of love and kindness will live on through all those who knew her.

A viewing to celebrate Dorothy’s life will be held on July 12, 2024, from 2:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Golden Gate Funeral Home in Dallas. The funeral service will take place on July 13 at 11:00 AM at Bethlehem Pentecostal Holiness Church in Dallas. Finally, Dorothy will be laid to rest at Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery on July 16 at 10:00 AM.

Dorothy Ann Woods will be remembered for her warmth, strength, and unwavering love for her family and community. May she rest in peace knowing she made a profound impact on all who were fortunate enough to know her.
