Services for Attorney Cynthia Woolen-Allen will be held Thursday, June 27, 2024, 11am at the Potter’s House Church, 6777 W. Kiest Blvd., Dallas, TX 75236. The eulogist is Bishop T.D. Jakes. Born February 8, 1959, she transitioned on June 19, 2024.
She was a proud graduate of David W. Carter High School, where she was the 1st female and African American senior class president.
As she continued to advance her educational studies, she received both her Bachelor of Science and Master of Science Mrs. Allen obtained her Doctor of Jurisprudence from Thurgood Marshall School of Law in Houston, TX where she served as the law school’s Vice-President and Teachers Assistant.
She has represented a broad spectrum of clientele for almost 35 years. A much sought-after speaker, Mrs. Allen has been featured on the local ABC News Series ‘In The Best Interest of Our Children’, as a guest attorney on television and radio talk shows, including Good Morning Texas, and in 2023 she was named a “Superb Woman,” by Texas Metro News.
Mrs. Allen makes it a point to give back to the community. She volunteers her time and expertise with local and national non-profit organizations and religious institutions. She is a member of the J.L. Turner Legal Association, National Bar Association, Dallas Bar Association, and Phi Delta Phi International Legal Fraternity. She is also a proud Life Member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc.
Beyond her knowledge of the law, she knew that our world could become a greater place and she did her part in creating that better world, one child and one family at a time. She incorporated her knowledge and her talent and continues to create something beautiful by helping and inspiring others.
A wife to Scottie Allen, mother, and grandmother; she will be remembered for being kind, loving, a consummate professional, full of life, and a joy to be around.
