Bridging the Gap Foundation Announces Annual Walkathon for Mental Health Awareness

The Bridging the Gap Foundation is proud to announce its annual walkathon, the BTG Walk 2024, scheduled for September 21, 2024, at the Ron Kirk Pedestrian Bridge. This event aims to raise funds and awareness for mental health services in the Dallas-Fort Worth area.

The BTG Walk 2024 invites individuals, families, and organizations to join in a 5K walk across one of Dallas’s most iconic landmarks. Participants will not only enjoy a day of community and exercise but also contribute to a vital cause that touches countless lives in our region.

“Mental health is a critical component of overall wellness, yet it often goes overlooked,” says Dr. Stacia’ Alexander, board member of the Bridging the Gap Foundation. “This walk is our way of bringing the community together to shine a light on this important issue and raise funds for much-needed services.”

Event highlights include:

  • 5K walk across the Ron Kirk Pedestrian Bridge
  • Entertainment and activities for all ages
  • Mental health resource fair
  • Recognition of top fundraisers and sponsors

Early bird registration is available until July 21, 2024, at a discounted rate of $25 per participant. Teams are encouraged to sign up and fundraise together.

The Bridging the Gap Foundation is actively seeking sponsors for this event. Sponsorship opportunities range from $100 to $7500, offering various levels of brand exposure and community engagement.

Funds raised from the BTG Walk 2024 will directly support local mental health initiatives, including counseling services, educational programs, and community outreach efforts.
