Arlington, TX- Again, it was a sold-out game at College Park Center as the Dallas Wings played the defending WNBA Champs, the Las Vegas Aces.

It started off tough in the first quarter for the Wings as the Aces’ star player A’ja Wilson outscored the Wings with 16 points to nine points. Early in the second quarter the Aces led by 30 points but the Wings would cut their lead to five points; 47-42 led by star player Arike Ogunbowale who had 16 points at the half.

In the third quarter, the Wings were able to cut the Aces lead to within four points but struggled to keep it down. At the end of the third the Aces would increase their lead 75-61. With just under five minutes left in the game the Aces led 86-69 and won the game 95-81.

Wilson finished the game with 36 points for the Aces and Ogunbowale finished with 31 points for the Wings. When asked about the battle of facing Wilson as both are some of the top scoring in the league, Ogunbowale said, “she’s a great player, two time MVP and you can only try to limit her, you can’t really stop her, that’s how good of a player she is.”

The Wings are also experiencing a significant number of injuries with four players listed on the injury report going into this game. Satou Sabally is out with a shoulder injury, Natasha Howard is out with a foot injury, Jaelyn Brown is out with a nose injury, and Awak Kuier was listed as resting.

“Satou probably won’t be back until right after the Olympics,” said Head Coach Latricia Trammell, who also provided an update on Howard and Brown. “Natasha will go back to the doctor tomorrow and she may be halfway there and Jaelyn should be out for a while.”

The 3-5 Wings will travel to Los Angeles to play the 2-7 Sparks on Friday, June 7.
