RICHMOND, Va. – Daylin Lee from the Winston-Salem State University (WSSU) football team was named the CIAA Male Scholar Athlete of the Year, the conference announced Tuesday afternoon.

Thank you to the coaches, Athletic department, faculty, and staff for pushing me to excel both in the classroom and on the field.”

Lee is the second straight WSSU athlete to win the CIAA’s top award. Last year offensive lineman Darrick McLean was the CIAA Male Scholar Athlete of the Year.

Other winners included Anii Harris (Bowie State) was named the Female Scholar of the Year, Tony O’Neal (Claflin) was named the Athletic Director of the Year, Lawanda Miller (Fayetteville State), Matisse Lee (Claflin), who was named Senior Woman Administrator of the Year and Dr. Jolisa Williams (Bowie State) was named the Sports Information Director of the Year. Korey Nickson of WSSU won the CIAA’s Eric Moore Communications & Marketing post graduate scholarship.
