A friendship that began 14 years ago, on the Dallas music scene, between Rickey Booker and Lamonte Harris is now a business partnership.

Breakfast Brothers, a Dallas-based breakfast restaurant, recently announced a  partnership with Prominent Sports Consultants, which is headquartered in Red Oak, Texas.

Prominent Sports Consultants’ athletes will be featured in digital ads on social media platforms through reels, stories, and posts. They will also appear on “In The Kitchen with Breakfast Brothers,” a weekly television show that runs on Saturdays on CW 33.

“I know him, and I know what he’s about because I saw his work ethic in the music business,” said Rickey Booker, co-owner and founder of Breakfast Brothers. “He didn’t wait on his manager or his DJ or anybody to do anything for him.

“I’m partnering with people who move the way I move or even better. He will promote me with the same energy that I promote him.”

Lamonte Harris and his brother, Lasana Hotep, founded Prominent Sports  Consultants in 2022.

“We’re going to bring in new crowds because I’m bringing in out-of-state eyes that are following my athletes, and they’re going to get to know Breakfast Brothers on a different level,” Harris said. “We’re introducing people to a new brand.”

Terms were not disclosed.

Harris had business meetings at the Breakfast Brothers location in Arlington for months before he learned Booker owned it.

“I’d buy the guy who printed my merch breakfast, and he’d give me T shirts,” said Harris, the company’s CEO. “I took my wife there for Mother’s Day, and I bumped into Rick.”

“I already supported Breakfast Brothers because it was a Black-owned spot, and the food was great. Once I discovered it was Rick’s spot, there was more reason to come. He’s my friend, so I was already invested because this was my favorite spot.”

Their friendship made this partnership easy.

“When I moved to Dallas because I was a recording artist. I wanted to make music, and Dallas was the next hot spot,” Harris said. “Rick was big on the Dallas scene. I used to see him everywhere.”

“When he reached out about partnering, it made sense. We trust each other. We’ve known each other for a very long time, and it felt right.”

The partnership is designed to help each business thrive.

“I liked the Breakfast Brothers brand because everything is quality from the social media reels to the food to the restaurant. It feels like I’ve been invested in Breakfast Brothers since the beginning.”

Booker, a business visionary, has excelled in the music and automotive industries because he’s a forward-thinker. That’s why he chose to partner with an old friend.

“As a Black-owned business you have to be able to get on the porch with the big dogs,” he said. “If I’m one of the first companies giving out NIL deals and it’s breakfast for champions and it’s nationwide – not just Dallas-Fort Worth – that’s a big deal.”

Breakfast Brothers, which began as a little black trailer behind an entertainment club in 2017, now has storefronts in Dallas and Arlington. It has a food truck, and an Express location in the Trinity Groves section of Dallas.

In Houston, Breakfast Brothers currently has an Express location.
