Richard Clay Hill, a beloved member of the community, passed away on January 31, 2024. He was born on June 15, 1940, to Odie and Ollie Hill. Richard’s bright smile and generous spirit will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
Richard dedicated many years of his life to his career at Thermo King, where he worked with passion and dedication. His commitment to his work earned him the respect and admiration of his colleagues. Richard’s strong work ethic and unwavering devotion to his job were a true testament to his character.
Education was important to Richard, and he was a proud graduate of Burnett High School in Terrell, Texas. During his high school years, Richard was actively involved in both the band and track teams. His commitment to these extracurricular activities showcased his discipline and determination.
Outside of work and school, Richard found great joy in spending time in his backyard. He had a fondness for gardening and took pride in cultivating beautiful flowers and plants. It was during these peaceful moments that Richard found solace and connected with nature. Additionally, family reunions held a special place in Richard’s heart as they provided an opportunity for him to gather with loved ones and create cherished memories.
Above all else, Richard considered his family to be his proudest accomplishment. His devotion to his loved ones knew no bounds, and he treasured every moment spent with them. Richard’s legacy lives on through his wife Gladys Hill, who stood by his side through thick and thin. He is also survived by their children Cheryl, Janice, Cynthia, Emelda, Tina, Wilford, Patricia, Anthony, Chiquita, Sister, Audrey, brother, Wayne. Richard’s love expanded to include numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren who will forever cherish the time they spent with their doting grandfather.
Viewing services will take place on February 9, 2024, from 3:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Golden Gate Funeral Home and A Crematory located at 4155 S R. L. Thornton Fwy in Dallas, Texas. A funeral service will follow on February 10, 2024, starting at 11:00 AM at the True Gospel M.B.C., situated at 1734 Ann Arbor Avenue in Dallas. The service will be a time for family and friends to come together to honor Richard’s memory and support one another during this difficult time.
Richard Clay Hill’s positive presence and giving spirit will forever be remembered by his family, friends, and all who had the pleasure of knowing him. He leaves behind a legacy of kindness, love, and a genuine zest for life. Though he may no longer be physically present, his spirit will live on in the hearts of those he touched. May his soul rest in eternal peace.
