Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin’s resignation should have followed his apology for not informing the president about his cancer diagnosis and surgery.

Instead, Austin played the race card in an attempt to excuse his faux pas. After receiving his cancer diagnosis, Austin said, “The news shook me, and I know that shakes so many others, especially in the Black community. It was a gut punch.” The insinuation is Austin’s poor judgment is typical of how Black folk respond when diagnosed with cancer.

If Austin was truly sorry he would have resigned. Especially, since another of his questionable decisions was responsible for the “gut punch” military personnel experienced who were physically damaged after being coerced to take an experimental injection or were forced out of the service.

The Lloyd Austin apple did not fall far from the Joe Biden tree.
