In those long lines of cars waiting to get food are families with real needs, the Chris Howell Foundation helped over 1100 of those families meet some of their most essential needs.
The Foundation will be at Skyline Ranch, 1801 E. Wheatland Road on Saturday, December 12, 2020, from 9am-1pm distributing food and PPE packages.
“We will serve over 1100 families PPE care packages and boxes of food on a first-come, first-served basis while supplies last,” said Mr. Howell, adding that the foundation is grateful for every volunteer who partnered to make the event possible; including TCC, LaWonda Peoples with Eventfully Yours, Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, The Redemption Bowl, the Fort Worth Marshal’s Division, Knight Waste Services, Junior League of Fort Worth, Blue Cross Blue Shield of Texas, DJ Lil Will Productions, Cordell Franklin, and Cast Your Bread Catering.
The Chris Howell Foundation was birthed when author, broadcast personality, and founder, Chris Howell, saw a need to inspire others in the face of adversity by using his own history of challenges, obstacles, and triumphs to empower individuals to succeed against all odds.
In 2016, after conducting an interview with a woman living with HIV, a desire was triggered in Howell to do something regarding the growing HIV/AIDS epidemic in Dallas County. Howell lost his 33-year-old brother due to complications from AIDS in 2006 and today, Chris and his wife, Dominique, are raising awareness to thousands of individuals in the Dallas-Fort Worth area through the Chris Howell Foundation by providing HIV/AIDS education and prevention programs.
Due to the increased needs of the communities they serve, the Chris Howell Foundation has expanded to not only disease education and prevention, but their work now extends to providing programs and resources including skills development, health, wellness, and financial education.
