William Dean Montgomery was born on November 7, 1933 in Taft, Oklahoma to Mr. Dinwiddie and Ms. Mable  Montgomery. The family later moved to Greenville, TX, where he attended school in the Greenville Independent School District graduating with the class of 1951. After graduation, he served in the United States Air Force for four years.

He met the love of his life, Alvalene Thompson, in Austin, TX and they were united in holy matrimony on July 7, 1959. They were inseparable until she went home to be with the Lord. William and Alvalene moved to Dallas, TX and became Owners/Operators of Oak Cliff Signs & Plastic, Inc. for 41 years, bringing love and joy to the business and families they serviced. William was a faithful member of Zion Missionary Baptist Church, where he served on the Deacon Board until his health started to decline. William’s favorite pastime was fishing, hunting and spending time with his family.

Loved ones he join in eternal rest includes his wife, Alvalene Montgomery, his mother Mable Montgomery, brother Noble Hawkins Jr., grandson Marlon Cozier and daughter Phaedra Montgomery.

William leaves to cherish his unselfish love (2) sons: Barry L. Montgomery of Dallas, TX and Gregory D. Montgomery of    Muskogee, OK; (2) daughters: Jacqueline Wilson of Lawrenceville, GA and Betty Carter (Anthony) of Mesquite, TX; (1) sister: Erma Jean Nelson of Greenville, TX; (18) grandchildren; (27) great grandchildren; (5) great great grandchildren along with a host of nieces, nephews, other loved ones and friends.
