DARTing to the Polls

Early voting kicked off this week and ends on October 30, but getting to the polling locations just got easier as Dallas Area Rapid Transit (DART) is offering free rides on two Saturdays of early voting (October 17 and October 24) and election day, November 3.

“Mobility should not be a barrier for exercising one’s right to vote,” said Mark Ball, DART’s media representative. We encourage everyone to get to the polls and exercise that right.”

The DART service will run all day and riders will be able to catch the Green or Orange line or the TRE right to Victory Station at the American Airlines Center.

Gordon Shattles of DART’s external relations, said he understands that thousands of residents across North Texas rely on DART to go to work, medical appointments or to the grocery store,  and voting should be no different.

“As with every national, state and local election, DART is working hard to ensure that all our residents have the opportunity to vote by offering free rides to voting sites across the metroplex,” Shattles said.
