“My Life Matters” Student Art Contest

To encourage creativity and artistry during these unprecedented times, the Urban Arts Center, is hosting an art contest themed “My Life Matters.”

“The country is facing multiple pandemics, COVID-19, systematic racism, political infighting and more,” explains Urban Arts Center Producing Executive Director Jiles King. “The arts have and will continue to serve as an outlet of expression. Our children continue to have strong voices and opinions on various topics. We want to hear from them.”

The Urban Arts student art contest is open to all students in the Dallas Independent School District, and will be divided into three categories: elementary, middle school and high school. The “My Life Matters’ theme allows artists an open canvas to express their creativity.
