Duncanville Police Department Closes its Jail

As of October, the Duncanville Police Department will no longer operate a holding facility/jail.

“The Duncanville Police Department, as of October 1, 2020, has transitioned its detention services (jail operation) to the DeSoto Regional, or Tri-City, Jail located at 714 E. Beltline Road in DeSoto, Texas,” read a statement from Assistant Police Chief Mark LiVigni. “This change in operations was studied, presented to Duncanville City Council on June 8, 2020 and approved on August 18, 2020 as a means through which a substantial cost and operational efficiency is expected.

“The City of Duncanville already partners with the City of DeSoto, as well as the City of Cedar Hill, on other regional efforts to maximize citizen tax dollars. Those include regional dispatch and the regional animal shelter.”

During normal business hours, all fines or bonds can be paid at the Duncanville Municipal Court office, located at 203 East Wheatland Road. If you need directions or other information, contact the court office at (972) 780-5055.

Arrested persons will be housed at the Tri-City jail located at 714 E Beltline Rd. DeSoto, Texas 75115. Contact the jail at 469-658-3081 or click here for more information.
