Cherry Carol Alexander

Cherry Carol Alexander was born March 25, 1954, in Mansfield, Louisiana to Alice Jean Claiborne and Welmon “Chicken” Claiborne. Cherry graduated from DeSoto High School, Mansfield, LA in 1972.

She was baptized at an early age at Zion Hill Baptist Church. As an adult, she became a member of Antioch Fellowship Missionary Baptist Church, the late Pastor Doctor Karry D. Wesley was the pastor at that time.

Cherry moved to the state of Washington, DC and Oxen Hills, Maryland area during 1978 to 1982 before re-locating to Texas. Cherry was a member of the United States Air Force and was Honorably Discharged on March 16, 1980. She worked for the Department of the Treasury, Internal Revenue Service in Washington D.C. and Dallas, Texas as a Collections Revenue Officer for over 30 years and she retired in 2009.

Cherry was preceded in death by her parents Alice Jean Claiborne and Welmon Claiborne, her brothers Michael Alexander and Mandell Ricky Allen.

In Loving Memory, Cherry leaves to cherish her daughter Devin Alexander and her son Dietric Alexander. One brother George Alexander (Cassandra), her four sisters Dorothy Claiborne, Shirley Williams (Sammie), Anita Claiborne and Bonita Claiborne.

Her loving grandchildren:

Dietric Alexander, Jr.  Kenderion Alexander, Aleyna Alexander and Destin Alexander.

One great grandchild: Ja’Khya Alexander

Cherry also leaves a host of nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.
