Councilman Thomas Wants a Way Out of Poverty

By Allana J. Barefield

Poverty has affected a lot of community organizations and nonprofits.

Dallas City Councilman Casey Thomas says he is trying his best to get to the root of the problem, through funding.

“We have many nonprofits that have been working daily to provide help and needed resources to communities impacted by COVID-19 and other challenges,” Thomas said. “The Council made funding available to address some of the issues that have historically caused these communities to be neglected and underserved.”

In order to be considered for funding, each organization or nonprofit has to be registered and apply for contracts.
