Back-to-School Bash in Wilmer

WILMER, TEXAS – The City of Wilmer is partnering with Praise Fellowship Church, other local faith-based organization, and community partners in preparation for back to school this month. The city along with nine community partners will be hosting its Back-to-School Bash on Saturday, August 12th from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at 4801 South IH-45.

School immunizations and COVID shots are being offered for students ages two months to 18 years old with a $25 Walmart gift card incentive.

The event will feature free backpacks filled with school supplies, free haircuts, free food, games, and prizes. There will also be free food and games and school age students will receive free backpacks with school supplies inside.

“The City of Wilmer is proud to partner and be apart in this great opportunity to help bring hope for our families and give the kids the basic tools they need to start the school year off successfully,” said Wilmer Mayor Sheila Petta.

The City of Wilmer would like to thank community partners Praise Fellowship Church, Empowerment Community Center, Commissioner John Wiley Price, Dallas County Health, and Human Services, SALTT Radio, Skillful Living Center, Miracle Express, Joshuas Remenant, Girl Power, and everyone that has contributed their support and dedication for the 2023 Back-to-School Bash.
