Young Entrepreneurs Academy Kicks Off in September

By Ashley Moss
Staff Writer

Join the Young Entrepreneurs Academy, or YEA!,  for a virtual information session for their upcoming Academy. YEA! is a groundbreaking educational program that takes students ages 11 to 18 (middle school and high school) through the process of starting and running real businesses/social movements over the course of a full academic year. Students work in close cooperation with local industry leaders, community members, and educators to develop ideas and objectives, write business plans, pitch to potential investors, register with governmental agencies, develop their brand identity, participate in a tradeshow, and much more!

In this information session, attendees will hear from YEA! partners—the City of Frisco, Frisco ISD, and Frisco Economic Development Corporation, as well as program leaders. There will also be time to hear from and ask former YEA! students questions. Please register to obtain the Zoom webinar link for this event. Both parents and students are invited.

For more information about the YEA! program within the City of Frisco, contact the Frisco Chamber of Commerce at 972-335-9522. Those interested in attending the program next year can go to https://www.friscochamber.com/young-entrepreneurs-academy/.

Application for the 2020-2021 School Year can be found here. Applications are due no later than 5:00 pm on Friday, Sept. 11, 2020.
