Paul Quinn College Re-Opens for COVID-19 Testing

By Allana J. Barefield

Once again, Paul Quinn College (PQC) will be the site for COVID-19 testing during a four-day testing blitz that will run from August 26 to August 29, 10 am to 4 pm at the southern Dallas County campus, 3837 Simpson Stuart Road.Dallas City Councilman Casey Thomas says he sees this current round of testing as an opportunity to flatten the curve in an area where COVID-19 has hit.

“Zip code 75241 is an area where we have seen an increase in positive COVID cases,” he said. “We have seen record numbers of people come to this location to get tested who otherwise would not have taken advantage of it, and would have been infected and not have known.”

After the four-day operation, which is in partnership with the City of Dallas, the Texas Division of Emergency Management and the Texas Military Department, PQC will continue its services every Tuesday and Saturday, from 10 am to 4 pm. To be tested, you are not required to have insurance, symptoms, or residency; however you must show identification, and have a valid email address and phone number. All screenings are free and test results will be available in two to four days. For a full list of testing locations, visit  https://dallascityhall.com/Pages/Coronavirus-Testing-Sites.aspx or call 214-670-INFO.
