Get ready to grab some of your favorite chicken in Deep Ellum. Gus’s World Famous Fried Chicken is a Tennessee-based chain that is branching out. The chicken spot is about to open its fourth location in Texas, following Houston, Fort Worth, and Austin. It’s been three years since they opened the Fort Worth location and the Deep Ellum location will be at 2904 Commerce St. at the corner of Malcolm X Boulevard. The opening is planned for later this summer. Their signature item is their spicy fried chicken. Customers can also purchase sides, such as macaroni and cheese, baked beans, fried okra, and potato salad.
