A man died Tuesday morning after being shot outside his home in Arlington.
Around 5:15 a.m., officers responded to a home in the 1400 block of Prentice Street and found a 36-year-old man with an apparent gunshot wound inside an SUV, according to police. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
The victim was identified by the Tarrant County Medical Examiner as Ali Ismail.
Detectives believe two suspects were attempting to break into vehicles in the neighborhood when the victim arrived home, police said, adding that one of the suspects attempted to hide in the victim’s driveway before pulling a gun and firing multiple shots.
Both suspects left the neighborhood before police arrived.
Police shared video footage Wednesday of two people walking through the neighborhood shortly after 5 a.m. Tuesday. The footage was low in quality, and did not clearly show the faces of the pair.
In a nearby neighborhood around 2:30 a.m., security camera footage showed a man trying to break into vehicles, police said, adding that he is currently considered a “person of interest” in the shooting.
The investigation is ongoing as no arrests have been made.
