Mary Jean Lewis

Mary was born April 1, 1935, in Chandler, TX to Matthew Wallace, Sr. and Emma Richardson Wallace.

Mary accepted Christ at an early age and attended Macedonia Baptist Church in Chandler, TX. She later moved to Dallas, TX and graduated from Lincoln High School and attended Griggs Chapel Missionary Baptist Church under Rev. T.J. Wicks and was a member of the choir.

She worked at Rose Dress shop at the time where she met David W. Lewis, Sr. They later married on May 24, 1959, and had 5 children, Charolotte Shofner (Ronald) David Lewis, Jr. (LaLa) Marceil Lewis (Deceased) Yolanda Conway (Leroy) and Kevin Lewis (Roy).

She also went to Phillips Business School and worked for McMillen Real Estate. After working at Polly Wally Daycare as a teacher. She retired as a housewife until she passed.

Mary was also a sibling of 8 whereas they later transitioned to Glory. Siblings: J.W. Wallace, Matthew Wallace, Jr. (Sarah), Winnie Franklin (James), Luther Wallace (Ruby), Pauline Crowder (Melvin), and R.C. Wallace.

Mary also leaves behind sister Jimmie Wilson (Johnny) and brother Clyde Wallace. Grandchildren: Tandra, Charlene, LaToria, Tanesha, Emanuel, Ronald, Jr., Leroy III, Reginald, Jr., Kiara, Deshayla. Great Grandchildren: Cameron, Jaylon, Trent, Jasmyne, Iriyanna, Shamyria, Jaden, Mason, Reggie, III, Kaela, Lyric, Kendall, Seven,Za’Mya.

She was a beautiful woman inside and out and will be truly missed.
