Mayor Eric Johnson and Tampa Mayor Jane Castor on Thursday announced that for the upcoming Dallas Cowboys vs. Tampa Bay Buccaneers playoff game, they have made a friendly wager: a “Tiff’s Treats Throwdown.”

Tiff’s Treats, which has locations in Dallas and Tampa, has agreed to provide 500 dozen boxes of hot, fresh cookies for the winning city. Mayor Johnson said he intends to distribute the boxes to the city’s first responders and to Dallas youth.

“The Cowboys have put together a terrific season, and the City of Dallas and all of Cowboys Nation is excited for our team to take on the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and the greatest quarterback of all time — with hot, fresh cookies on the line,” said Mayor Johnson. “We believe in our Cowboys, and we hope this will be the first step in bringing the Lombardi Trophy back to where it belongs.

“I also want to thank my good friend Mayor Jane Castor for participating in this fun wager, and I want to thank Tiff’s Treats for baking in higher stakes for this game.”

Mayor Johnson added, “Go Cowboys!”

Mayor Johnson and Mayor Castor previously made a friendly wager on the Dallas Stars vs. Tampa Bay Lightning Stanley Cup Finals in 2020. However, Mayor Johnson’s office has no further comment on that series or that wager.

The 12-5 Cowboys will travel to Tampa to take on the 8-9 Buccaneers. Kickoff is scheduled for 7:15 p.m. CT on Monday, Jan. 16.
