Robin Eugenia Jordan Story

Obituary

Robin Eugenia Jordan Story was born July 13, 1957, in Hope, Arkansas to Thomas Tyree Jordan and Kathleen Brown Jordan. She departed this life at 3:22 p.m., Friday, December 30, 2022 at Methodist Medical Center, Dallas, Texas. Robin’s parents and sister, Thomas Jordan Brunson, preceded her in death.

Robin accepted Christ as her Lord and Savior at an early age and was baptized at Lonoke Baptist Church of Hope, Arkansas. Robin was musically inclined and played piano for the youth choir

Subsequent to graduation from Magnolia High School in 1975, Robin earned Bachelor of Science degrees in Mathematics and Chemistry from Southern Arkansas University (“SAU”) in 1980, Robin later earned her Master of Science Degree in Statistics from the University of Arkansas, Fayetteville in 1982. While at SAU, followed her mother’s legacy and both she and her sister were initiated into Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated. Robin was involved in several other university and community activities while at SAU. Also, in recent years Robin has supported various SAU initiatives and served on its Board of Governors.

Robin was united in holy matrimony to Jeffery Story on May 31, 1980. Upon completion of graduate school in 1982, Robin and Jeffery made Little Rock their home where Robin began her professional career as an engineer with Arkansas Power & Light Company. In 1987 the couple moved to Dallas where she united with Greater Providence Baptist Church and served on the Usher Board and was also President of the Deaconess for a period of time.

Robin worked in University Development for SMU prior to embarking on a 25-year teaching career with Dallas Independent School District. Robin was initially hired as a math teacher for Longfellow Career Exploration Academy. The last 16 years of her career were spent at Yvonne Ewell Townview Magnet High School where she taught Algebra II, Statistics and Geometry.

Robin leaves to cherish her memory: husband, Jeffery Story, esq; mother-in-law, Alice F. Story; sister in law, Kathy Story; twelve nephews, Edward Brunson, Brian Brunson, Coreinn Story, Richard Harris, Jason Scott, John Santee, Jr., Jerrod Santee, Terry Wilbourn, Jarian Thomas, Gregory Minifield, Ryon Carpenter and Joshua Charles; twelve nieces, Jasmine Santee Rhodes, Jessica Story-Sutherland, Joi Story Walker, Jamiee James, Jackie James, Jeree Charles, Jerrica Santee, Faylene Morrow, Keira Story, Mercedes Highgate, Mikayla Dunlap
