
After two days and six ballots, the House of Representatives has not had a candidate to receive the required 218 votes. Rep. Hakeem Jeffries of New York has garnered all 212 Democratic votes, six times. Republican Kevin McCarthy received 202 then 201 Republican votes. Wednesday, Florida Rep. Byron Donalds received 20 votes from the Republicans, ensuring that McCarthy would not be victorious. They will reconvene Thursday morning at 11 a.m.
