The ballot measure known as Proposition A asks citizens to vote FOR a 2% increase in the Hotel Occupancy Tax, which is paid by overnight visitors to Dallas hotels and motels. Known as the “tourist tax,” it will repay the bonds for the renovations. This means no increase in property or sales tax for Dallas residents will occur.
