Join Council Member Jesse Moreno and the City of Dallas in celebrating Cinco de Mayo

What : Council Member Jesse Moreno and the City of Dallas will host two free events to celebrate Cinco de Mayo and the rich culture of Dallas.

In partnership with the City of Dallas’ Office of Arts and Culture, there will be a performance by Anita Martinez Ballet Folklorico at 8:30 a.m. on Wednesday, May 4 before the council meeting.

In addition, the public is invited to attend a Cinco de Mayo celebration co-hosted by Council Members Moreno, Jamie Resendez, Omar Narvaez, Adam Bazaldua, Paula Blackmon and the Dallas Park and Recreation Department from 2 to 5 p.m. Saturday, May 7, at Pike Park. This family friendly event will have Folkorico dancers, a DJ, and showcasing local artists. There will be several contests for prizes including tortilla making and Grito/Chili eating.

“This is a great occasion to celebrate both Cinco de Mayo and recognize our City’s support for the diverse arts and culture communities. All are welcome!,” said Council Member Jesse Moreno.
