NEW ORLEANS – The HBCU All-Star Game, taking place on Sunday, April 3 during Final Four weekend in New Orleans at the UNO Lakefront Arena at 3 p.m. CT, has announced a slate of free events taking place in and around the inaugural contest, including a social justice discussion panel, a live 30-minute pregame show and fan fest leading up to the game Sunday.

Before the HBCU All-Star Game players and coaches square off in the game next Sunday, the group will be able to take part in a social justice panel discussion on Thursday, March 31 taking place at the Hilton Riverside. Titled, “Voting Rights, Police Accountability, and Racial Justice” the objective of the panel is for our panelists to educate and inspire college coaches and athletes to remain engaged in social justice and civil rights issues.

Ahead of the game on Sunday afternoon, the HBCU All-Star Game Fan Fest will take place from 12-2 p.m. outside of the UNO Lakefront Arena, featuring live music, the St. Augustine Marching 100 and a greek showcase featuring fraternities and sororities from local HBCU’s in the city.

The HBCU All-Star Game Pregame Show, a 30-minute live show originating from the site of the game will air on CBS from the arena leading into tip-off for the inaugural game. The show will feature interviews and features on the game, players and coaches participating.

For fans looking to attend the game Sunday, a group of sponsors in Aflac, Geico, Black Voters Matter and the Transformative Justice Coalition have combined to offer free tickets to high school and college students with proof of school identification at the ticket office.

The national anthem will be performed by Grammy-award nominees The Ton3s, formerly known as The Hamiltones.

At halftime, fans will be entertained by the world-renowned Southern University Human Jukebox. New Orleans’ Emmy-nominated inspirational rapper, Dee-1 and DJ Mal Ski will also perform.

The inaugural HBCU All-Star Game will air live on CBS and be available to stream on Paramount+. Sponsors of the HBCU All-Star Game include Aflac, AT&T, Buick, Capital One, Coke, Geico, Jostens, Marriott, Pizza Hut, Reveal Suits and Werner Ladders.
