The Duncanville High School Panthers are the current reigning UIL 6A State Champions (2020-2021).
They plan to hold onto that title for another year.
The Panthers (33-1) and led by McDonald All-American Anthony Blake, will take on on Atascocita (34-6) in the UIL Class 6A boys basketball state semifinals tonight (Friday) at 8:30 p.m. at the Alamodome in San Antonio.
At stake is a trip to the finals. The winner plays the winner of Westlake versus McKinney in Saturday’s championship.
Before leaving for San Antonio, Black was named a McDonald All-American this week and received the jersey he will wear during the nationally televised game. The 2022 McDonald’s All-American Girls Games (featuring the top 48 girls and boys high school basketball players) can be seen on Tuesday, March 29 at 6:30 p.m. ET on ESPN2 and the Boys Game immediately following on ESPN at 9 p.m. ET.
Black was selected from more than 760 nominees from across the country to play in the 2022 McDonald’s All-American Games in Chicago. Anthony will be playing on the Boys West Team.
