On February 23, 2020, 25-year old Ahmaud Arbery was murdered while jogging in Brunswick , GA. Pursued by three white men, Mr. Arbery tried to escape as they chased him in a pickup truck, with one of the men filming on his cell phone. Arbery, who had dreams of playing in the NFL, was known for making people smile.
His murderers were found guilty of multiple murder charges. Most recently, almost two years to the date of the murder; the three were convicted of federal hate crimes, Tuesday, February 22, 2022. According to Ahmad’s aunt, Diane, and activist Barbara Arnwine, hundreds will be gathering in Brunswick today where they will pray and release doves.
