Carter High School Varsity Cheer Program Heads to Nationals

Dallas Mavericks CEO Cynt Marshall poses with the David W. Carter High School Varsity Cheer program at Sunday’s Mavs game. The team, who rank ninth in the State of Texas, fifth in the nation and are the first all-Black 4A team to place at UIL, will leave on Wednesday for The UCA National High School Cheerleading Championship at Disney World, which takes place this weekend, Feb. 11-13. Marshall and the Dallas Mavs joined several local businesses, organizations and individuals who helped fund the team’s trip to Nationals.
