BROOKLYN — A Haitian-American marketer has filed suit against her former employer, a national whiskey brand, saying she was sexually harassed and that company leadership created a hostile work environment after she complained to them.
Garcelle Menos, 30, is the plaintiff in a lawsuit filed in federal court for the Eastern District of New York against Uncle Nearest, a whiskey brand based in Tennessee, and David Christopher Harper, her former boss at the company.
“It is adding insult to injury and kind of being hurt twice, that’s what it felt like,” said Menos, of Brooklyn. “This makes me think of why a lot of women don’t say anything, just let it happen and dismiss it. It was very frustrating, and it put me in a weird place for months.”
