DESOTO, TX — In the spirit of the season, the City of DeSoto partnered with the Chris Howell Foundation to distribute toys and food for as many as 500 kids and up 250 families as part of holiday gift giveaway efforts at Les Zeiger Park in DeSoto.
This year, the City of DeSoto formed a partnership with the Foundation to devote additional time and resources to assist DeSoto residents in need this holiday season. The City and Foundation will distribute action toys, dolls, games, puzzles, stuffed animals, and more for school age children plus food boxes for the entire family. Event pre-registration is required.
“We are excited to partner with the DeSoto City Council to bring smiles to the faces of as many residents as possible,” said Dominique Bryant Howell, President & Executive Director for The Chris Howell Foundation. “Our joy comes from helping the community to celebrate this special time of year.”

Proctor. “We’ve seen the difference that they have made in the DFW Metroplex helping people cope with serious challenges such as AIDS/HIV, hard economic times, and most recently the coronavirus pandemic, and we are thankful for the helping hands that they are giving to so many DeSoto residents at this festive but often difficult time of year.”
The Chris Howell Foundation has supported more than 150,000 families in the metroplex by distributing just under three million pounds of food, with water, and PPE s throughout the pandemic.
